We're Hiring for New Positions

Role Summary:

Sjogren Industries is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer, Systems & Automation to help modernize and expand our manufacturing and engineering capabilities.

This is a project-focused role for an engineer who wants to make a direct impact on the shop floor. You will work closely with ownership, engineering, and production on CNC/CAM improvements, automation, lights-out manufacturing, new product setup, and the development of more structured and scalable engineering systems.

We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and take projects through implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own manufacturing engineering setup for new and revised products, including BOMs, routings, process plans, and work instructions.
  • Improve CNC machining processes, programming, setups, tooling, workholding, cycle time, and repeatability.
  • Support and expand lights-out and unattended machining capabilities.
  • Evaluate and implement shop-floor automation, probing, inspection, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Apply AI-assisted CAM and manufacturing tools, including Autodesk Fusion and similar technologies.
  • Lead manufacturing and engineering special projects from concept through implementation.
  • Document, improve, and automate engineering support processes.
  • Update product manuals, catalogs, technical documentation, and engineering references.
  • Help build Sjogren’s future internal engineering capabilities and systems.

What We Are Looking For:

We care more about demonstrated technical capability than a specific number of years of experience.

Strong candidates should have hands-on experience in several of the following areas:

  • CNC machining and manufacturing process development.
  • CAM programming and optimization.
  • Mastercam, Autodesk Fusion, or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • BOMs, manufacturing routings, and new product introduction.
  • Tooling, fixtures, workholding, and setup improvement.
  • Lights-out or unattended machining.
  • Probing, inspection, or process control.
  • Manufacturing automation.
  • Technical documentation and continuous improvement.

Why Sjogren:

This is an opportunity to help shape how an established precision manufacturing company evolves its engineering and production capabilities.

We are investing in advanced CNC manufacturing, automation, lights-out production, AI-assisted manufacturing tools, and improved engineering systems. The right person will have significant opportunity to identify better ways to manufacture, automate, and support our products rather than simply maintain existing processes.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, salaried, exempt position.
  • On site in Worcester, Massachusetts.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Salary range based on experience and technical capabilities.
  • No regular travel required.
