With great sadness, we announce the passing of Carl P. Sjogren, beloved owner and president of Sjogren Industries. Carl, age 65, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl L. Sjogren; his son Dylan and daughter-in-law Sabrina; his mother, Cora P. Sjogren-Welch; his brother Buddy and sister Wendy, along with cherished nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester, Carl is the son of the late Richard C. Sjogren. Before moving to Webster three years ago, he lived in Auburn, Brimfield, Oxford, and Charlton. He graduated from Worcester Academy in Worcester.
After graduating from Worcester Academy, he joined Sjogren Tool, the family business founded by his great-grandfather, and passed torches down the family line to his father. Carl dedicated his life to the company’s success, later guiding the company as President of Sjogren Industries for 38 years.
Carl was known for his passion for learning and hands-on approach to work and life. He spent much of his free time on his Brimfield farm and enjoyed cooking, hunting, and fishing. He was a life-long learner who was always tinkering and willing to try new things.
Many will remember Carl’s contributions to the industry and community. He will be dearly missed by all, including his loyal team at Sjogren Industries.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford, followed by a service at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl’s memory to the American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
